Sulli's Song of the Week #3: "Nocturne - Cello & Piano" by Steven Chen

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOrchestraBoy/

I'm back with some another episode of "Sulli's Song of the Week". This week, Steven Chen of Spartanburg, SC has a song for us. He's been playing cello for 5 years now and composing for 2 of them. He plays upright bass, viola and piano along with cello. Steven says the idea behind the song is it starts out dark and mysterious which it then rushes into a fast movement from the cello while the piano thunders away with a D minor chord. If you like this, and want to see more then go to his YouTube page and follow him.

If you would like to be featured on this segment then let us know! Message us a clip of you playing something original or a cover at YouTubeTwitterFacebook or in the comments below! Thanks for reading!

    1. I'm not sure if I ever replied to your comments or not, so allow me to just in case I forgot.

Thank you for the interest in the blog. This whole project is all done independently, though I have a donation button on the page. I take the time to write everything myself, with no money tied into it. I would be interested into expanding to the point of the blog being its own site from scratch and offering such ad spaces/ paid reviews but that's just a little too far in the distance for me.

I'm happy to hear my style of writing breaks down more complex topics to a simpler means because that is something I constantly worry about, even with things like the new series I'm on. Quality needs to be of the highest caliber to gain subscribers. As for the layouts and all, I found a stock layout I liked from Blogger and modified it wherever needed.

Thank you for your interested and hope to see you again!

  3. You really make it seem really easy with your presentation however I find this topic to be really something which I feel I'd never understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely extensive for me. I'm looking forward in your next submit, I will attempt to get the
    grasp of it!

    1. Hello Robe,

Thank you for the comments. Thanks for the compliments, we try to give the highest quality material on here for people like yourself to learn. I also understand how complicated theory can be, so I try to explain it as thoroughly as possible. If you would like for me to explain it differently, or have one of the others to try and explain something then email me and we'll try to help you out.

I designed it myself in Photoshop with some brushes a friend sent me over Dropbox. As for testing the site, I haven't really tested it but I have yet to receive any complaints on the problem so I'm assuming not. However, I am about to get access to a wider variety of testable things (a.k.a a few friends of mine are getting new phones and they said they would let me pull the site up on them. When I ran it on Safari, IE, and Chrome, everything seems fine).

As far as the emails about the comments go, I honestly have no idea. You're the first to comment on something I've posted so I'm assuming there's a way that I'm not aware of. I'm sure Google has an answer for you somewhere!

Anyways thanks for the support, and I'll take a look at your page in a bit. My team and I are having to take a little "leave of absence" for exams (going to announce it in a bit) but when we're back around the beginning of May, we have a few surprises for everyone! ;) Don't forget about the Facebook Page or following us on Twitter and share to your friends who may be interested!
